How to connect to Optoma Projector Webpage to access Projector settings including control

See below on how to connect to projector webpage (like on products like ZH450ST).

Pre-requisites:

  • Computer or Laptop
  • Optoma projector
  • Ethernet cable

Direct connection option

  1. Connect network cable between computer LAN port and the projector LAN port
  2. The default IP address of the projector is the following for the projector and the computer for the direct connection

Projector

192.168.0.100 (Projector default webpage address/Static IP address)

255.255.255.0 (Subnet mask address)

192.168.0.51 (DNS address)

You will need to set your computer to an IP address that is in the same network range as the projector. An example of a good IP address for the computer is the following:

Computer

192.168.0.101 (Computer static IP address)

255.255.255.0 (Subnet mask address)

192.168.0.51 (DNS address)

Important: Do not choose the same IP address as the projector for your computer or else you will have a network conflict.

3. Open a web browser. Type the IP address of the projector in the web browser and click enter on your keyboard. You should now have access to the projector webpage. It will ask you to create a new password on initial login.(see example below)

Once you successfully enter your password; you should be able to access all the settings from the webpage and also be able to control your projector from the webpage.

Note: If you do not know how to put a static IP on your computer; see below helpful resources (below are the common Windows and Mac procedures for changing the computer IP address via the network adapter/network connection page on the computer. If your computer is not windows or MAC, please consult your 3rd party computer manufacturer instead for their specific steps)

Change TCP/IP settings on Windows computer

Change TCP/IP settings on Mac computer

You are done. Congratulations!

If you need to connect via DHCP instead, please see below.

Pre-requisites:

  • Computer or Laptop
  • Optoma projector
  • Ethernet cable
  • Network modem or Network switch

You may either have your own network switch or the company has a network switch in an IDF closet normally hidden from you. If there is an IT team that has a network switch hidden from you; you need to contact them to assign your Projector a DHCP address. The IT team normally needs to be notified ahead of time if you plan to have a projector on their network so they know that device is expected and not unknown, so that they don't block that device on their network. IT team normally will just ask for the MAC address of the projector so they are aware of that device. The MAC address is available via the projector info page which is accessible via your projector remote.

Otherwise if the network switch is owned by you; and it has its own built in DHCP server, the projector and your laptop physically connected to the same network switch with their own dedicated ethernet cables; both devices should automatically acquire their respective DHCP addresses that is within the same network range.

Note: Normally if the projector is plugged into a network switch with a DHCP server, the projector will automatically acquire the IP address. Your computer doesn't need to be physically connected to the projector via ethernet cable if your company has a wireless network that is on the same network as the projector; your computer will automatically acquire a DHCP address from your wireless network in that situation.

Note: For projectors that have wireless network capability; it means you can have your projector connect to the wireless network to obtain a DHCP address, and your computer can also be on the same wireless network to access the projector webpage via the projector DHCP address.

DHCP connection Procedures (alternative)

If you need to connect via DHCP instead of Direct connect; do the 3 steps above; but instead use the DHCP address that was assigned by your network switch to your projector. See below important steps before accessing the projector webpage via DHCP.

How to use web browser to control your projector via DHCP:

1. Turn “On” the DHCP option on projector to allow a DHCP server to automatically assign an IP address. You can turn on the "DHCP" option for the projector via the Projector on screen display settings via the projector remote. See below where the DHCP setting is typically in the menu:

2. Open the web browser in your PC and type in the projector’s IP address (“Control LAN IP Address”).

3. Enter the user name and password, and click “Login”. The projector’s configuration web interface opens.

note: If you are unable to connect, it may mean your computer IP address is not in the same network range or subnet, consult your local IT if necessary if you have a local network issue especially if its due to a local firewall setup by your IT team.

Example below of a successful DHCP connection between Projector and computer:

Projector (Below is an example only, your IP address for your network may be different)

10.10.0.100 (Projector default webpage address/DHCP IP address auto assigned by the network switch)

255.255.255.0 (Subnet mask address)

Computer

10.10.0.101 (Computer DHCP address assigned by the same network)

255.255.255.0 (Subnet mask address)

Note: For ProAV Optoma projectors; when you connect to the Projector webpage for the first time, you will be prompted for the username and password. Default username is "admin" and the password is the serial number of the projector (the serial# is on the barcode sticker on back of your projector, or it is on the barcode sticker on the Optoma box where your projector was shipped in). You will be prompted to change the password as soon as you successfully login for the first time. Below is an example of a Pro AV projector webpage (example is a ZU920T):

Note: For projectors like HCPro-4400; you will need to access the projector webpage by adding ":8088" to the web browser. As an example, if your projector IP address is "192.168.0.100", the projector webpage for HCPro-4400 can be accessed by adding port# 8088 like this "192.168.0.100:8088" as the webpage address.

Tip: You must use HTTP (not HTTPS) if using Chrome browser. For Microsoft edge you must use HTTPS, example is "https://192.168.0.100:8088"

Below is example from HCPro-4400 when changing the password for the first time:

Below is an example from HCPro-4400 for the web control page:
